Domain zone .UK is a country code TLD of the United Kingdom of Great Britain.
Important! According to .UK Registry policy, registration of domains in this TLD has certain requirements:
1. A real British address and ZIP-code must be stated in the Whois contacts during the registration of the domain. If the physical address does not exist, or is stated with an error, the Registry permanently suspends the domain until its owner produces the documents, confirming the existence of this address.
2. You should also check the availability of the domain in the following zones: .co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .net.uk, .plc.uk, .ltd.uk.
If the same domain exists in at least one of the zones above, then only its owner would have exclusive rights for registration of identical .UK domain. For example, you are interested in domain example.uk, which is currently available. However, if a similar domain example.org.uk exists, you will not be able to register the domain example.uk. This rule is set by the .UK Registry, and it is valid until June 10, 2019.
